Bloom’s Room by Catherine Bloom — may be the best-kept fashion secret in Beverly Hills. An elite group of style-wise international clients, including name Hollywood stars and executives, rely on Catherine’s impeccable eye and styling talents to discover what’s next for their closets and to check any gifts off their lists.

Could you share how you started your career in the fashion Industry?

Fashion was always a passion of mine from when I was a little girl. I asked my grandmother when I was 11 if I could be her stylist. She told me, if I want to style her, that I would have to charge and make it a business. That’s where it all started. My entrepreneurial spirit for all things fashion, art and beauty.

In your view, what defines a sense of style?

A person that has the confidence to take risks and to try different things until they find the place where they are the most comfortable and feel the most like themselves. Style should enhance who you are as a person.

What are your thoughts on wardrobe essentials? What items should every stylish woman own?

First and foremost, pants or jeans that fit beautifully to show off your figure..

A leather outer piece whether that’s a moto, blazer or puffer..

A great white t-shirt and tank top that’s right for you..

A fabulous bag, whatever the budget may be..

A beautiful ankle boot and cool sneaker to tie everything together..

I always like a long gold chain tucked in to just peek out..

That’s all a starting place!

Do you have a preference for certain fashion brands? if so, which ones stand out to you?

Honestly, I’m a Tom Ford and John Galliano addict..But I look at all brands because you never know which brands will surprise you in a season.

What’s your take on vintage pieces and the eco-fashion movement?

I have been a buyer of vintage since as long as I can remember.  It’s always been in my wheelhouse. I can tell stories of getting “stuck” at vintage flea markets in Paris for HOURS! It’s my go to for interesting jewelry pieces, even home decor.

And right now especially, it’s more current to be in vintage and new. It looks right and feels right.

What is your favorite piece of clothing and your preferred colors?

For sure, I have jumped on the black and gold movement for quite some time. When traveling, it makes packing easy and seamless and always feels chic. I also love pops of exciting colors that are right for you.

I have a gorgeous black suede Valentino poncho with semi precious stones and gold. Every time I pull it out to wear, I enjoy it as much as the first..

Also, I have a beautiful Dior couture pant that I found that I just live and die for..

Could you tell us more about Bloom’s Room?

It was designed with elements of my home. I wanted it to be a little different and to feel like a pied-a-terre rather than a dressing room. We have a living room, a dining room, a men’s club room and curated product that is specific to Bloom’s Room.

Can you disclose which celebrities have been styled in Bloom’s Room?

I’m sorry but I never talk. In today’s world, the biggest luxury for all of us is privacy. So I never discuss clients or what people buy.  It’s important to me to have a space that respects that privacy.

What has been the most unforgettable moment of your career so far?

I’m fortunate every day to be around such incredible people that I have learned from. I have many unforgettable moments…I asked Karl Lagerfeld to sign a baseball! I never ask anyone for an autograph but there was a moment when he was in LA that, shame on me,I asked him to sign a baseball. He found it amusing because he had never signed one before. And I’m so happy to have it.  I have a vase of baseballs in my office with all the autographs of designers in Bloom’s Room.

Do you notice a difference in fashion styles between Americans and Europeans?

Europeans have such a beautiful way of dressing more formally each and every day. I so respect when people put themselves together in that way. It can be so creative and so inspiring.

With the Cannes Film Festival approaching, what are your feelings about this event?

I was there last year and it’s all super exciting. I had never been before. The spirit, the fun, the fashion… Beautiful , sexy, dresses and men tailored and styled… So exciting and so fun to be a part of it all. Exactly what you think it’s going to be!

Do you have a personal motto or a talisman that guides you?

I like to feel great every single day. I like to work out every morning, meditate.. Being filled with joy and presenting the best version of ourselves every day.
