The Art of Encounter
By Anna Sashina

In Cannes, there are places that seem to exist by their own rules. Away from the flashes of official photocalls and the schedules of premieres, these are the spaces where the most interesting encounters take place, unexpected conversations unfold, and new creative collaborations begin. During the 79th Cannes Film Festival, Villa Paris Fashion Air once again became one of those rare destinations.
Over the years, the Cannes Film Festival has evolved into something far greater than a celebration of cinema alone. Today, it stands as a global cultural phenomenon where film, art, fashion, design, business, and contemporary thought naturally converge. Each May, the French Riviera becomes a temporary capital of international creativity, attracting thousands of guests from around the world filmmakers, collectors, artists, designers, entrepreneurs, and cultural tastemakers.
Against this backdrop, Villa Paris Fashion Air felt like a natural extension of the Cannes Film Festival’s modern spirit. Throughout the week, the villa welcomed an international community united by a shared appreciation for beauty, creativity, and meaningful cultural exchange.

Among the highlights were presentations by Veronika Jeanvie, Mariano Moreno, Yanis Stepanenko Haute Couture, Allard Jewelry, Thalie Paris, and LK&OS Runway Production| Kids Fashion Show. Each collection offered its own interpretation of contemporary luxury from architectural silhouettes and meticulous craftsmanship to an elegant dialogue between tradition and modernity. The exquisite creations of Allard Jewelry provided the perfect finishing touch at Veronika Jeanvie collection, reinforcing the idea that true luxury is always found in the details.
Contemporary art became the true heartbeat of the villa. Throughout the Festival, Villa Paris Fashion Air transformed into a living gallery, bringing together artists from across Europe, North America, and Asia. The exhibition curated by Anna Sashina featured photography, abstraction, figurative art, mixed-media works, and sculpture, reflecting the diversity and vitality of today’s international art scene.
Among the participating artists were Eva March, Elena Iv-skaya, Daring Daria, Fabrice Chiri, Josef Fischer, Lina Khei, Karinne Grimaud, Marusya Ogorodnikova, Molly Winckelmans, Nico Biso, Tatiana Perreard, Vivian Wang, Zoey Essart. The artistic presentation was further enriched by the iconic sculptures of Laurence Jenkell, whose internationally celebrated works have become a symbol of contemporary French pop art.
Throughout the week, guests had the opportunity not only to discover the artworks but also to meet the artists personally, creating meaningful exchanges that embodied the spirit of cultural dialogue at the heart of Cannes.
It is in places like Villa Paris Fashion Air that the true evolution of Cannes becomes visible. No longer solely a destination for cinema, the Cannes Film Festival has become a platform for creative exchange, where art moves beyond gallery walls, fashion becomes a cultural statement, and a conversation on a sunlit terrace can become the beginning of a new creative journey.
This is, perhaps, the essence of Cannes today and the true meaning of The Art of Encounter.
