The integration of natural elements and continuous renewal are two key principles that designer Robert Abi Nader embodied in his new Couture FW 24-25 collection, filled with hope and conveying impressionist emotions.
Inspired by the work of the great Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh, this collection is reinterpreted by Robert Abi Nader from a contemporary perspective, offering a glimpse into the future. Van Gogh, renowned for his paintings full of emotional power and vividness, was the inspiration behind the unique fashion looks. His ability to convey subtle emotions and deep feelings through his paintings fits perfectly with the designer’s task of evoking an emotional response from the audience. The designer brings his creations to life, endowing them with a variety of emotions – from anger to peace, from hope to optimism and strength. The exquisite pieces include dresses, suits, jumpsuits, abayas and a magical wedding dress.
Unique Aesthetics.
Robert Abi Nader creates his dresses with the personal goal of showing a woman as both delicate and strong, attractive and elegant. His figure-hugging designs emphasise femininity, avoiding loose silhouettes and preserving the uniqueness of each figure through sophisticated and bold fabrics.
The collection also incorporates Van Gogh’s vision of integrating natural elements into fashion. The varied cuts of the fabrics, especially in trousers, blouses and jackets, give the models the look of impressionist paintings harmonised in the details. Corsets made of metal, wood or plastic adorn several models, and leather is used on some pieces, continuing the line of the previous collection.
Nature’s Palette.
Van Gogh’s visual vision is reflected in a palette of colours inspired by nature. The models are presented in shades of orange and gold, giving them a luxurious feel, as well as in lilac, grass green and black. Each colour symbolises an element of nature with its own psychological significance: bright colours express joy and devotion, light shades symbolise light and hope, and the green of life signifies resilience and continuity.
The golden dress is art on fabrics.
One of the most impressive dresses of the collection is a luxurious golden dress symbolising warmth and light. This magnificent creation is adorned with the finest embroidery, reminiscent of sun rays breaking through the foliage. The corset of the dress, made with elements of Van Gogh’s painting, embodies his painterly style. Handmade work of masters creates elegant patterns on the corset, reminiscent of the motifs of ‘Starry Night’ or ‘Sunflowers’. The dense fabric emphasises the silhouette, creating the effect of a corset, and the free-falling skirt gives the image lightness and gracefulness.
