NAWA Sia

The Secrets of the Amazon at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo

The evening marking the world premiere of the film NAWA Sia, The Secrets of the Amazon was held at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, which was fully booked with 500 guests attending this exceptional screening.

It was a historic and deeply moving moment, touching hearts, awakening consciences, and paving the way for concrete action to support the rainforest, indigenous peoples, and our connection to the Earth.

This extraordinary premiere, held on April 19th, coincided with Brazil’s Indigenous Peoples Day and also marked the birthday of Chief Bené, leader of the Huni Kuin community, who sadly passed away 26 days after filming.

It was an evening filled with profound meaning — like the heartbeat of the forest, a prayer, a call from its very depths. A vibrant tribute to the wisdom of indigenous peoples, the guardians of the Earth, and the sacred bond that connects humanity to nature.

The film was directed by Isabella Vieira (@giu_monte_carlo_), as a gift to her chief, her people, the forest, her ancestors — for all the voices that are too often unheard.

NAWA Sia is an offering, an act of love and gratitude to those who preserve the memory of the living world.

That night, in the stunning and majestic Opéra de Monte-Carlo, it felt as if a sacred portal had opened. Witnessing this project come to life in such an iconic place, surrounded by so many beautiful souls, was both overwhelming and deeply symbolic.

NAWA Sia received the Best Indigenous Native People’s Film award at the World Film Festival in Cannes.

All proceeds from the evening were entirely donated to the “NAWA SIA Amazonia Alliance,” a non-profit organization founded by Isabella Vieira, dedicated to the reforestation of the Amazon and the support of indigenous communities.

An award was presented on stage by indigenous representatives to the Prince Albert II Foundation in recognition of its moral support for the project, as well as to various partner associations, institutions, and local organizations involved in NAWA Sia, The Secrets of the Amazon.
