A Visionary and Committed Businesswoman

A successful entrepreneur in multiple fields, Juliette Dubois embodies the power and elegance of a powerful woman with a packed schedule, balancing philanthropic projects and humanitarian commitments. We had the privilege of meeting her for an exclusive interview and cover photoshoot in the iconic Majestic Suite of Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic in Cannes, just before her departure for Los Angeles.
Juliette, how do you manage such an intense pace? Do you have a large team and several assistants to support you?
I’ve always been hyperactive and passionate I love taking on new challenges. I travel the world for fragrance trade shows and fashion shows. I’ve attended about one event per week since 1989. That said, I’m extremely organized and often accompanied by assistants and collaborators.
This year you launched the Festival of Perfume in Cannes. Can you tell us more about it?
My latest project, the “Festival International du Parfum”, is a dream come true. It came to life this year after two years of intense work and will continue to grow each year. France is the birthplace of perfumery, and I wanted to use my passion to create a unique festival bringing together fragrance brands, distributors, retailers, and perfume lovers in an innovative concept. This isn’t your typical trade show. This festival has a soul, a strong identity: a gala dinner infused with fragrance, a perfume runway show, olfactory conferences, workshops, and exhibitions of rare perfumes.
Tell us about your fragrance brands. Where can people find your perfumes?
My brands include the Juliette Dubois Parfums JD Paris group, July St Barthélemy (since 1989), and July in Grasse. My perfumes and cosmetics are distributed in 100,000 units worldwide. We have around 20 retail locations globally, and we ship internationally. We’re also looking to expand our distribution further, ideally by partnering with a major group. The collection as well is featured in my boutiques in Grasse and the brand-new boutique in Cannes, and at my showroom in Paris by appointment.
I also run a fashion and perfumery school, where I now pass on my knowledge to younger generations. We’re opening a brand-new 500 m² space in central Cannes, where I’ll proudly present my perfume collections and dresses which I’ve been collecting since childhood.
What are your upcoming projects?
In May, I’ll be at the CBE trade show in Shanghai to accelerate our expansion in China, where Juliette Dubois Couture is already known—thanks to a runway show in Shenzhen that received over 14 million views. The Fashion Week directors even visited our school in Cannes.
I also have two major shows coming up: one on April 27 at the Château de Grasse, and another on June 14 at Place aux Aires in Grasse to celebrate 35 years of creation.
The Cannes Film Festival is just around the corner. What’s your program for this iconic event?
For the Cannes Film Festival, I’m organizing the 3rd edition of the Juliette Dubois Festival. We’re hosting a garden party at the Fashion Art Perfumes Magazine villa, featuring a Juliette Dubois Couture and Dannia Couture runway show, along with the “Miss Élégance July in Cannes”.
Finally, do you have a personal motto or guiding phrase that inspires your life and work?
I started in 1989 with hats and later became a passionate designer. My dream? To be the next Chanel.
